Bill Of Rights
Tell's the people of The united States of America what the can and can't do in a day to day life the bill of rights is explaining their rights.
Rule of Law
Rule of law means that no one is above the law that means that no one can get out of the punichment of doing something wrong. So if Suzie were to steal a candy bar from John, John could press charges and make Suzie pay a fine. The picture shows that even if your rich if you do something wrong you can still get put in jail. And also if your an elected official even the president can be put jail.
Consent of the Governed
Consent of the governed is a phrase from the United States Deceleration of Independence. It is synonymous with a political theory where in a governments legitimacy and moral right to use state power is only justified and legal when derived from the people or society over which that political power is exercised. This theory of consent is historically contrasted to the divine rights of kings and has often been invoked against the legitimacy of colonialism. Article 21 of the Universal Deceleration of Human Rights states that "The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government".
Cartoon For The Subject
This picture relates to the subject by making a joke about the governments power and how sometimes we make the wrong choice in an election.
Good Choices
This shows how the government can be great choices and how they can make good choices sometimes. They representitive makes th man feel good which makes the representitive look good as well.
What The People Think
Some people the government does not ake information from us and the run on their own.
Representitive Government
A Representitive government is when people in a nation elect their own officials to represent them. In the United States of America we elect our President our current president Barack Obama, was elected by the people of our country. This picture shows how hard it isto be an elected official and that the people you have to deal with are no easy things to deal with. Sometimes the officials we elect get very stressed and have to resign.
Individual Rights
A right is your privileges, you have them and you want to keep all of them. But if you over bend, break or not follow your privileges then you can get through in jail. When you get out of jail your privleges are limited because the people who make the laws know that you don't listen to them so next time you go to jail you get a longer sentence than you would have if you hadent ben there before.
Checks and Balances
Checks and balances was made so that in the United States Government, no certain branch of government can get to much power. So that we could not become a tyranny. Each branch has the power to check and balance the other branch. The three branches of government can limit the overstepping of boundaries if a branch steps out of line.
