MATH PENTATHLON - DIVISION III - WISHING YOU THE BEST OF LUCK

Only four years ago we brought the Math Pentathlon program back to MHG! Hard to believe we are completing another very successful season as our Division III students prepare for their tournament! It's now time for our forth and fifth grade students to compete with other students from all over Michigan and Ohio at the National Math Pentathlon Tournament! We are looking forward to a fun day playing math games while testing our problem solving skills and using strategies we've learned each week! This year we have 5 students representing MHG at the tournament being held at Rochester Stoney Creek High School on Saturday, May 7th. Please recognize the following Pentathletes that have worked very hard preparing for this event:

Alex Bilan

Jules Brikho

Evan Snyder

Olivia Thweny

Grace Van Benschoten

Best of luck Wildcats!

SINGING WILDCATS

I would like to thank Mrs. Boyd, and the Wildcat Choir, for representing MHG at the annual Collage Concert. Your hard work, continued effort, and boundless talent was obvious in this stellar performance. Our school is so proud of each and every one of you. Keep singing!

VARIETY SHOW

Wow! What a spectacular Variety Show we had last week! I am always impressed by the talent and bravery of our students! So many of our little ones were on the stage for the first time! We are so very proud of them! Thank you to all of the parents who worked with your children at home to prepare them for the big event and thank you to Alison Burke and all other volunteers for working tirelessly to ensure that the show ran seamlessly! I am already looking forward to next year!

5th GRADE COMPLETES MSTEP - 3rd GRADE COMPLETING THIS WEEK

Our 5th grade students completed the statewide M-STEP (Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress) assessments.

Our 3rd grade testing window opened Monday, April 25th and goes through May 13th. The 4th grade testing window is May 9th-May 27th. For the most part, our students will test during the first two-weeks of their testing cycle while we will conduct make-up tests in the final week of their respective cycles. Please note, students in grades K-2 do not take the M-STEP.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MRS. MCFADDEN

Mrs. McFadden completed her first year in the Galileo Leadership Academy. Mrs. McFadden has focused her learning, this year, on how formative assessments and multiple testing opportunities impact student learning. Her research is already improving student success in significant ways! Congratulations Mrs. McFadden! We can't wait to see what next year will bring.
