Lenski Weekly Update
September 29th, 2023
From the Principal's Desk
Happy Friday! We hope that your weekend is off to a wonderful start!
We have raised nearly $50,000 for our fun run! Wow! Last week we raised over $800 during our Red Robin Restaurant Night. That’s truly amazing. Thank you for all you do to to support us at Lenski. There are still a few CU tickets left, get a ticket while you still can!
Next week is our Scholastic Book Fair! Please join us October 2nd-6th in the library. Students can stop by the library during the day or shop after school for 30 minutes Monday-Friday! There is nothing like an elementary school book fair! Enjoy stocking up on all the amazing books we will have to offer!
From the Office
Parents on the Playground
Come be a kid for the afternoon and join our students for Parents on the Playground! You can sign up for one lunch time or the whole day, whatever fits your schedule! Play tag, push kids on the swings, be a challenger in a game of four square - whatever you choose, you are a ROCK STAR to the kids!
From the Counselor
Our mental health team is beginning to prepare for counseling groups. If your child is struggling and could benefit from additional social-emotional support in school, please contact their teacher or email Ms. Baez directly at sbaez@lps.k12.co.us. Groups are scheduled to begin in November.
Screenagers Under the Influence: Addressing Vaping, Drugs and Alcohol in the Digital Age
It has never been a more difficult time to be a teenager, and therefore, it has never been a more difficult time to parent a teenager. The third feature documentary in the Screenagers trilogy delves into how the tech revolution has reshaped adolescence and its effects on substance use. The film debunks myths and depicts strategies parents and schools can use to encourage healthy decision-making, support teen mental health, set limits, and create healthy home environments. This documentary is a must-see for any parent whether they are concerned about their child using substances or not.
