NWR Student Highlights

  • Congratulations to Sean Pergola and Honorata Lubecka for being named National Merit Commended Students! This is quite an honor for both!

Middle School Activities

  • Middle School Student Council will host a Dodgeball Tournament as a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness on 10/23 from 2:30-3:30.

  • The next middle school dance will be held on November 1 at 6pm. This will be a Halloween Dance!

  • The 7 th grade students spent the afternnon on Weds 10/9 getting to know thier classmates better while engaging in healty and fun activities. They also had a chance to interact with our HS Peer Leaders who will be working with them during the school year acting as positive role models and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

  • MS WRESTLING Sign Ups and Information Meeting! Friday 10/18 @ Unit Lunch in Mr. Stoll's Room (MS 13). A parent meeting to follow in early November

High School/Student Activities

  • Student Council: Club Fair in the HS Gym during unit lunch on Friday, October 11th

  • Student Council: Homecoming Events - Hallway Decorating Friday, October 18; Homecoming Tailgate and Car Show Friday, October 25 - 7-9 PM (Community members welcome!); Homecoming Dance - Saturday, October 26th 7-9:30 PM

  • This year's High School Fall Play "Almost, Maine" will be held on November 15 & 16.

  • The annual NW Multicultural Fair hosted by the Spanish Honor Society and World Language Department was held 10/3 and had 43 stations hosted by students, families and staff representing various parts of the globe. The days events included ceramics demos, Irish dance and folk song performances.

  • The 9th Graders are hosting a Pumpkin Harvest Fest on Oct. 12, 9-1. Open to the community as a fundraiser. This will be held outside of NWR at the front parking lot. Pumpkins will be on sale and free with a paid contest registration. Admission to the event is free. Crafters/vendors are welcome to set up a space during the event at $15 a space. Prizes will be given to several categories. Candygrams will be on sale during the week prior to homecoming.

  • Friends of Rachel - October 11 is the kick off the Stuff the Stocking Contest! Please bring a new, unwrapped gift to help support local children who deserve a new toy!

  • HS WRESTLING sign Ups and Information Meeting will take place Thursday 10/17 @ Unit Lunch in Coach Bradley's Room (HS 19). A parent meeting to follow in coming weeks.

Counseling Corner

  • Oct 30th is scheduled for PSAT for all 10th & 11th graders. 8th and 9th graders who wish to sit for the test can sign up for $15 in the counseling office.

  • The Financial Aid Workshop will be held on 10/21 6-8pm.
  • College Fair #2 will be held on 10/17 10:30-11:25am. These are both during Unit Lunch.

Alumni News

Drew Benzaia, NWR Class of 2019, has started her freshman year as a JUNIOR! Between Dual Enrollment and AP Test Scores, she started her college career with 64 credits going into her first year at UNC Chapel Hill. Congratulations, Drew!

PTO/Community Events

PTO will be hosting the following activities;

Oct. 16, 2019 @ 6-8pm - Zumba-Thon
Oct. 21, 2019 @ 6-8pm - Bonfire
Oct. 25, 2019 - Tailgate, Car Show & Homecoming working in conjunction with the NWR Student Council


Community Trip Opportunity

We have announced the next 3 summer trips. Families are welcome and encouraged to travel! We have an information meeting on October 10th at 6pm in MS Room 4.
