Dear Parents
What an EXCELLENT first week of the semester! Our students and staff members jumped right back into the school routine on Monday.
This week your child took an assessment called NWEA (MAP). NWEA measures your child's academic growth in both reading and math. NWEA tests are interim assessments, which means they are given periodically during the year (August, December/January, May). It is based on the same standards as the summative (“high-stakes” or state) tests, so they measure similar content. Teachers receive immediate results that show what students know and what they are ready to learn. The results are used to help personalize lessons at the appropriate level for each students.
This week I will be visiting classrooms to speak individually with students about their results. We are proud of how hard our students, teachers, and staff members worked the first semester!
Your child will bring home their NWEA report Friday, January 18th.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Johnson

… and much more!
Please reach out to me with concerns, questions, or simply to introduce yourself!

School Counselor
A Note from the Dean
We understand that there are some times circumstances that prevent a child from being able to attend school. Please call me in my office at 317-532-3152 if you or your child are experiencing issues that may prevent him/her from attending school.
As well, each week, each of our classrooms spends a few minutes in what we call "Community Time". During Community Time, students work through lessons which encourage their social/ emotional growth, as well as reinforce our CORE values. This week, students will be focusing on how to identify and navigate emotions. Please check in with your child on what he or she learns this week during Community Time in the classroom.
Have an amazing week!
Mrs. Noel Wilson
