Binders of Awesome sent home today! View, Sign, and Return Monday! Thanks!
News from Ms. Hess
We loved visiting the Tannenbaum Forest in Amana as well as the Amana Museum. Hanging our handmade ornaments on the tree was a point of pride for each of us.
Mathematicians finished our unit of study on adding and subtracting decimals and will begin our investigations into multiplying decimals. We have enjoyed playing games to help us practice as well as number puzzles to enrich our mathematical practices.
In literacy, we determined did a closer read of a biography to look beyond the facts to the deeper obstacles and solutions people have faced. Ask your child who they chose!
Writers have begun developing character sketches for imagined narratives. We will begin exploring writing fiction this next month.
In time traveling, your child is working with a partner to learn about a Native American region and tribe in order to create a Google Slideshow to teach their classmates or a Kahoot quiz to quiz the class over what they learned. It's so fun to see their wheels spin as they realize they are in charge of teaching!
Our Second Step goal is to learn to respectfully disagree.
