Reading Strategies
In ELA we've been learning reading strategies. We learned how to predict, visualize, question, connect, identify, infer and evaluating.
Predicting
Predicting is a guess about what's going to happen next in a book/movie. You have to have evidence and and schema to backup your guess.
Visualize
Visualizing means reading or hearing something and picturing it in your head. It's like a little movie in your head when you read something you enjoy!
Question
You ask questions when you read because you wonder what's going to happen or what is happening.
Connect
Connecting to a story means that you have had something to do with you, another book, or even a movie.
Identify
Identifying means to see the answer to a question.
Infer
Inferring means to make a guess on what the author is trying to say but without telling you.
Evaluate
Evaluating is saying you if you like the story or giving input.
