What Is A "Healthy Body Image"?

A healthy body image is often mistaken as only about appearances but instead a healthy body image is constructed of many parts such as loving yourself and your body and becoming a bit more carefree about what others judge your body as, also how you choose to take care of it.

Why Should We Have A Healthy Body Image?

We need a healthy body image to create a balanced self esteem a humble yet confident mind set because... Developing these parts of yourself can help boost your self-esteem. A positive, optimistic attitude can help people develop strong self-esteem. ... A positive attitude and a healthy lifestyle are a great combination for building good self-esteem.

Just by being able to love yourself and your body is something that motivates you to make healthy and productive choices. In short developing a healthy body image can help you lead a happier life.

What Are The Effects Of Having A Poor Body Image?

If you have a poor body image, it probably means you're having problems accepting yourself as you are. Self-acceptance is crucial to a good body image.self-acceptance allows you to make reasonable changes in order to improve yourself, but it doesn't ask you to hate yourself until those changes have been made.Poor body image has been linked to a number of mental and emotional problems, including depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. Poor body image can cause emotional turmoil and can lead you to believe that you're less worthwhile than others. It can contribute to low self-esteem and can even increase your risk of suicide.

How a Good Body Image Affects You

If you have a healthy body image, you're more likely to be emotionally and mentally stable and healthy. You'll enjoy more confidence, self-awareness, and self-esteem. You'll be far less likely to suffer from eating disordersand you'll decrease your risks of depression and anxiety.

Explained Further

Your body image is the way you perceive your own body, irrespective of the way others may perceive it. Body image isn't always tied to reality. You could have the figure of a supermodel, but if you think your body is ugly and ungainly, then you have a poor body image. On the other hand, if you have a good body image, you will like the way your body looks and feels, even if others don't.

Thoughts

A healthy body image starts off with how well you treate yourself emotionally and physically. When you look yourself in the mirror are you telling yourself all the things you love about yourself or are you stating all the things you hate about yourself that shows if you are leading a positve or a negative lifestyle now its ok to tell yourself all the things you could have done better but there is a diffrece from between those bads and you would be able to sense it if you weren't feeling good about yourself. My point is a healthy body image is how you use your mind asets is it for positive things or bad things.

Tips, Tricks, Suggestions;

  1. -Stop checking. ...
  2. -Stop comparing. ...
  3. -Practice self acceptance (by listing things you love about yourself under a time limit or just a written list to remind yourself
  4. -Get lost in motivational music
