Warwick Weekly

Big picture
Our weeklies will be emailed and posted on our web page most Thursdays in the evening. The newest points of interest will appear at the top along with a review of the previous week and things to look forward to for the next week. We include links to our Warwick Parent/Guardian Handbook and a page where we curate previously publicized flyers for easy referral. If you have ideas on how to improve our Warwick Weekly as a means of communication, "we want to hear from you." Please use the online feedback form that can be found at the end of each Weekly to share your ideas, thoughts, and concerns with us.

Here is What Happened this Week!

  • Monday was the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.
  • On Tuesday our students had a musical rehearsal with Mrs. Kelly for VH1.

  • This morning the Sewing Club met.

Pictured above is a group of 6th grade Warwick students who spent their MLK Day packaging and assembling meals for homebound adults, the elderly, and people in need. Each meal assembled included meat, vegetable, starch, and dessert.

PTO sponsored three assemblies presented by Kira Willey Music, Movement & Mindfulness for Kids on Wednesday. Each assembly was specifically designed to meet the needs of the age group. Everyone learned new mindfulness practices while enjoying music and having fun!

NEWS ITEMS

6th Grade Promotion Date

At the November PTO General Meeting, we discussed dates for Warwick special events that happen at the end of the year. One of those dates was 6th Grade Promotion. We realized last year that this special event was on the same night as CB East's Baccalaureate Ceremony. So to avoid family conflicts, and given the calendar for this year, we will hold our 6th Grade Promotion on June 9th. If CBSD makes adjustments to the calendar at the end of the year in response to weather closings, we may adjust the Promotion date, too. We will make that determination once the CBSD closing date for 2019-2020 is finalized.
