This Week . . .

Reading - This week we will be continuing a close reading activity out of Because of Winn Dixie. We are pleased to see many of our students making their 3rd quarter reading goal! Last day to make it is Friday!

Writing - Our final product for our opinion writing piece will be shared this week. In grammar we are working on comparing with adjectives and understanding adverbs. Feel free to work on these skills on www.StudyIsland.com.

Math - We are working on using the distributive property to find the area of a shape. Please continue to work on math facts and fraction review using http://www.softschools.com. Another great site for practicing math fact fluency is http://www.xtramath.com. Xtramath only takes minutes a day and the progress is well worth the time!

Science -We are continuing to learn about Patterns in the Sky. We will be learning what causes day, night, shadows, and seasons. We will also be learning why the Moon's shape seems to change.

We have a few students working on 4th grade skills (they've mastered the 3rd) and really pushing into the advanced levels! We recommend using Study Island 15 - 20 minutes a day.
