GINGERBREAD PALS

Fourth-graders created gingerbread pals to send to schools all over the United States. The same schools are sending us gingerbread pals, along with letters describing their classrooms and communities. Check out the festive friends we've received so far!

SAVE THE DATE FOR SOME WINTRY FUN

Our room parents are planning a festive winter party! We'll celebrate at 1:50 pm. on Friday, Dec. 19. Parents are welcome to attend. Check out next week's Thursday folder for all the details.

BARKS AND BOOKS

This holiday season, the Hosp Green Team and library are sponsoring a recycling drive to benefit two great, local causes.

BARKS

Donation bins will be left outside each pod for students to bring items for the Humane Society Animal Shelters. The winning grade will receive a special privilege. Suggested items are collars, leashes, non-perishable food, bedding, etc.

BOOKS

Book donation bins will also be left outside the library. Please bring in your gently used, hard-cover books to benefit a local, economically disadvantaged Frisco elementary school.

MATH HOMEWORK

As a reminder, math homework is due every week on Fridays.

COMPLETION GRADES ON HOMEWORK

Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Damm are taking completion grades on English/language arts homework. We will be looking for effort and completion. Please encourage your child to take ownership of his or her homework. And let us know if you have questions or concerns. Thank you!

SNACK-TIME REQUESTS

Please help your child choose morning snacks that are conducive to eating and working at the same time. We kindly request that students bring only one snack for the morning and that it be simple to eat while reading, writing and working. We have so much learn in fourth grade! Thank you in advance for your help!

ACCESS TO THE STUDENT LEARNING HUB

The Student Learning Hub offers links to curriculum-related resources. For example, you can view state standards for all subjects; characteristics of reading genres; and videos that explain how math concepts are taught in the district. Your child's homeroom teacher has already sent a click sheet that walks you through the login process. Please let us know if you have questions.
