Chess Club Success!
Lowell made its second trip to the K-8 Illinois State Chess Tournament on March 7-8 at Bloomington-Normal.
Congratulations to the follow team members for representing Lowell at the state tournament.
- Gabrielle Horn
- Nick Sanguinetti
It was a very tough competition with over 80 registered school teams, but Lowell persevered.
A team is made up of a minimum of 4 players in each category. With only 2 players in the 2nd-3rdgrade category, Lowell demonstrated we are a force to recon with. It was an uphill battle with only 2 players, but Nick and Gabrielle fought a good fight and marched Lowell into the top 20s in the state. This is very impressive.
I am very proud of Nick and Gabrielle for holding their ground and not being intimidated.
Congratulations and a very BIG thank you to Nick and Gabrielle for working so hard over the 2 days, for their bravery and perseverance, to put Lowell on the charts.
Go Lowell!!!
