This Week...

Social Studies: Effigy Mounds

We are beginning our Native American Unit in social studies. Your child has been learning about effigy mounds and what they mean to Native American culture. Here are some picture of the effigy mounds we made in class out of clay! They will be sent home for you to admire next week!

Everyday Math

This week our students continued their learning of long division. They have also been furthering their knowledge of angle measurements using a full and half circle protractor. This week we primarily focused on the partial quotients method of long division. For a refresher on this method see the link below.

Field Trips!

On Friday, February 12th your student has the opportunity to attend a field trip to the Veteran's Museum and the Wisconsin State Capitol. The Veteran's Museum tour will focus on the Civil War and add onto the knowledge the students already have on this topic. After lunch, students will be taken on a guided tour of the State Capitol. The cost of this field trip is $4 per student and $4 per chaperone. The field trip slips are due back to school on Monday, February 1st.

Our Physical Education teachers have planned a field trip to Rock River Lanes on Monday, February 8th. Field trip slips for this field trip came home on Thursday. The cost of this field trip is $4.50. If you need another field trip slip please contact me.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Please remember that your fourth grader has been working very hard on a Google Slide Presentation to present to you at this conference. They will be sharing the progress they have made, as well as some improvements they can accomplish during the remainder of the year. If possible, please make sure that your child attends this conference with you.

Need a reminder of your conference time? Click the link to see Ms. Stevens' Spring Conference Schedule.

Science Fair Project

The final project is due on Thursday, February 4th, which is only a week and a half away! I am really looking forward to seeing the finished projects, as they are always creative and detailed.
