Speak
Laurie Halse Anderson
By: Evan Fox- 2nd Period
Summary
Laurie Anderson created this book to touch people. It is about a teenage girl starting high school with all of her friends hating her. But why? At the end of the book we realize just how much Melinda (the main Character) has gone through. She never told anyone what really happened to her the night that everything went wrong. Through out the book Melinda finds her voice, speaks up and realizes she is not alone.
"Do they choose to be so dense? Where they born that way? I have no friends. I say nothing. I am nothing. I wonder how long it takes to ride a bus to Arizona."
