A Glimpse into Our World
Ask the Kids
Language Arts
What are you reading? Why do we ask questions when we read? What do we do when we come to unknown words when reading? What are you writing? What strategies can an author use when writing leads? What strategies can an author use when closing their writing?
Social Studies:
What are the different regions of the country? How are maps and GPS similar and different?
Math:
How will knowing your 10's multiplication facts, help you with your 5's facts? What is multiplication? Write a multiplication story for 3 x 4.
Science:
What is the scientific method? What are the steps? Do hypothesis have to be correct? What do we include in the conclusion? (This is a repeat from the previous week!)
What Are We Learning This Coming Week...
Spelling lists for the week can be found in the Language Arts section of the GO Binder. Students will use the same Tic Tac Toe board as last week and it will be due Friday. Students can complete as morning work and/or for homework. We had a disappointing number of students who did complete last week. Please remind your kids to complete.
Social Studies: We will wrap up our study of maps by combining the many skills and creating a map of a Mystery Island.
Math: We concluded our Module 1 today with our Summative. The kids did amazing. The rest of the week will be spent estimating numbers 2 and 3-digit numbers and investigating addition strategies.
Science: We will dive deep into our matter unit by identifying properties of matter. Students will participate in multiple hands-on activities that will expose them to the different properties of solids, liquids, and gases.
Third Grade Facebook Page
We will use this for updates, reminders and most importantly a way to see into the classroom. We like to showcase the students learning and thinking.
We will be checking the office for a list of students who cannot be photographed, so no worries there! :)
We will be closing the Facebook page on Friday to secret. So please start following!
