CONFERENCES
We've very much enjoyed the time we've spent with families at conferences already. Research shows that student success is linked to involvement in their own goal setting. We believe that the goals we're making will have a significant impact on having a GREAT year!
We look forward to getting together soon with those of you we are meeting with next week.

Birchview Bobcat Fun Run
The Birchview Bobcat Fun Run is a great way for our PTA to raise much needed money to fund field trips, assemblies, playground enhancements and more. During the school day on Friday, October 30th, students and teachers will walk, run, skip--whatever they like--around the Bobcat track for 30 minutes. This event is about Birchview spirit, health/wellness and raising money for our wonderful school. For more information, click here

Cogat Testing
As part of the district wide identification process for Vision 21
services, Wayzata Schools will be administering the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) to all 2nd and 4th graders between September 16 and October 23. Students in 3rd and 5th grade who are new to the district will also be given the CogAT during this time. Please make every effort to have your child attend school during the testing days.
Results from the CogAT tests will be used as one of the multiple information sources to identify students who will most likely benefit from the Vision 21/Gifted and Talented program. Student identification will be finalized and parents will have access to their child's results through Skyward Family Access by December 2.
