WHAT IS THE CARNEGIE STEM EXCELLENCE PATHWAY?
The Carnegie STEM Excellence Pathway initiative is built on the belief that school systems, individual schools, departments, or individual teachers can improve their STEM education practices through a positive, collaborative approach.
The Pathway includes:
- A tool and process for evaluating current STEM programming and creating a practical plan for improvement
- A guide to specific steps a school or district can take to improve STEM education
- Supports for teacher professional development and district-to-district mentoring
- Recognition for schools that are embracing and moving toward effective STEM education
School District Partners commit to:
Engagement as a Pathway Partner Cohort member
Establishing and regularly convening a district-wide STEM Leadership Team
Attending professional learning opportunities designed to support the implementation of the Pathway. These workshops are tentatively scheduled for November 16, 2018, January 8, 2019 and May 8, 2019.
Participating in project evaluation which may include surveys, interviews, and sharing data.
Start assembling your STEM Leadership Team and complete the Interest Form. Interest forms can be submitted from now through November 2, 2018.
