Worthingway Middle School Updates
9/18/2020
Dear Families,
I am excited to prepare for our upcoming Hybrid instructional model. You will see a video below outlining the most important points. We all want to be in school together. To help this happen, I need your help. Please let your student(s) know we are very excited to welcome them back and to see them in person but we really need their help in implementing our safety expectations. It is so important that they wear their masks, stay 6 feet apart, and follow our general safety rules such as keeping only two to a restroom and sitting in assigned seats. Every time a students does not do these things, we risk not getting to be together.
Mr. Mosca and I pride ourselves on focusing on what our students CAN do, not on what they can't. I know our students will be successful doing the things we need them to do! Your help in stressing the importance of this message will help us stay together! Thank you and have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Mr. Kellenberger

Next week we will start pre-reading activities for The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and then begin reading the novel the following week!
Mrs. Newcomb: Spanish:
Sra. Newcomb's Spanish classes are well underway and students should be doing active practice every day. If a student says s/he has no Spanish work ask to hear/see what we have been doing. :-) 1A students are learning to spell, read, hear and speak colors, and numbers 0-30 and to letter spell out loud in Spanish. 1B Students have been working on -AR verb conjugation and will soon start to learn the vocabulary of members of the family. Be aware parents- I am teaching them to talk about you in Spanish. :-)
Ms. Speicher: Social Studies:
Speicher 8th Grade Social Studies: I am so excited to be teaching your student American History this year! We have gotten started with reviewing historical foundations, how to read history from varying perspectives and have started studying the many unique, living cultures of Indigenous Nations and Tribes of the Americas.
