Grant Cares Helping Federal Employees

As the partial government shutdown continues, the Grant Cares team wants to make sure that Grant families who work for the Coast Guard or other Federal agencies have what they need to make it through.

We have experienced a spike in the number of tardies at Grant. Please make every effort to have your student arrive at school on time and be at their classrooms or lined up on the blacktop by 8:05 am.

See's Candy 6th Grade Fundraiser starts 1/22

The 6th grade is ready to make this the best Valentine's Day yet with another See's Candy fundraiser! Flyers and order forms will be distributed on January 18th and orders must be submitted by Friday, February 1st. All candy will be delivered on Wednesday, February 13th.

Girls on the Run with Coach Hilbert!

Girls on the Run, a national running program for girls in 3rd-5th grades, will be starting at Grant School in early February. Join the longest running after-school program at Grant like 100’s of other girls. Led by Coach Hilbert, the girls will complete a non-competitive 5K run/walk event at the end of the ten-week program. No running experience is necessary! Registration is now open! Register now through January 27th. Scholarships are available! Visit

  • Dates: Mondays and Wednesdays from the week of February 11th – April 28, 2019 (excluding holidays)
  • Time: Mondays 2:45-4:15 and Wednesdays 12:45-2:15

Grant Gala Auction Help Needed

The 24th Annual Spring Auction Fundraiser is coming up April 6th. We are working hard to make sure Grant thrives and we'd love to have your volunteer support. We know people are busy, but the work hours are flexible and we are so thankful for any assistance you are able to offer...from helping procure auction items to ticket sales, to breaking down the event and much more. If there's something you don't see that interests you and you have a specific talent or something to offer, we'd love to have you bring that too! Check out the sign-ups here:

Grant Performing Arts Auditions 1/18

Grant Performing Arts Auditions Friday, 1/18
Grant welcomes Donnie Frank to the Directors seat this year! Donnie also runs the Performing Arts Program at McNear and works for Cinnabar Theatre. Students in grades 1-6 are invited to participate in 'Adventures in Wonderland', but only students in grades 3-6 need to audition.

*The Casting Call will be held on Friday, January 18 after school.
*Additional information and registration forms are coming.
*Rehearsal Days: Mondays & Fridays afterschool

Indoor Recess Volunteers Wanted!

Would your 1st, 2nd or 3rd grader benefit from the option of an indoor recess space to play board games, create with Makerspace materials or read a book? One of our wonderful Grant parents is spearheading this project and is looking for parents to help supervise this space during lunch. Grant Family Movie Night, 1/25

Coming to the Shamrock Theater: Incredibles 2!! This awesome Grant PTA sponsored event will be held Friday, January 25th. The doors to the multi open at 6 pm so you can stake out your spot. The movie starts at 6:30 pm. Free admission, fresh hot popcorn, and bottled water. Pizza and baked goods will be offered for sale. Please bring your sleeping bags/blankets and low profile chairs. This is not a drop off event and adults must accompany children.

We are so excited to announce that this years dance will be held in the Hotel Petaluma Ballroom! Fancy! Save the date! Details and invitations will be coming soon!

After School Enrichment Changes

  • Pop Star Choir is BACK ON! Due to additional enrollees, we WILL be holding this new, fun after-school class on Wednesdays from 1 pm - 2 pm beginning January 16th. Open to 3rd through 6th grade, 1st and 2nd graders will be considered.     Mock Trial / Debate for 4th through 6th grade has been CANCELED due to low enrollment. If you signed up, you will be contacted by Parker-Anderson and refunded.

Grant Year Books Now On Sale!

Ring in the New Year with the Yearbook Cover Art Contest! The winner(s) will be chosen by teachers and staff

and their artwork will be used for the COVER and back cover of 2018-19 Grant Elementary Yearbook!

THEME: What makes Grant Elementary great to you!

-Create an art piece on a 8.5x11” standard size paper

-Your name and grade must be on the back

-pencils, pens, markers, paints, crayons can be used

-Hand drawn, photography or graphics can be used

Due Date: February 14, 2019, Valentine’s Day
