Cullman City Schools
The Week in Review - May 23, 2019
Another Year Complete
We made it! The 2018 - 2019 school year is in the books. Thank you to everyone who worked to make this year a success. We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our teachers. We owe a special debt of gratitude to everyone who partners with us to make the education of our students the best that it can be. Our local businesses, program volunteers, financial supporters, families and this community make Cullman City Schools great!
Summer Meal Program
School is out! But, we still want to make sure all of our students can get nourishing meals this summer. Cullman City Schools will host a Summer Feeding Program from June 4th thru July 26th. Cullman High School and West Elementary will serve as host locations for this program. You may check the CCS website for additional information and menu items.
Board Recognition
This week's Cullman City School Board meeting featured numerous recognitions of students who have recently achieved state and national honors. Congratulations to all students who were recognized!
A big congratulations goes out to the CHS baseball team for their recent state championship win. These players and coaches should be very proud of their accomplishment! We are proud of them!
All That Jazz
The CMS Jazz Band recently visited EES to demonstrate their skill. These musicians have a growing talent. We can't wait to see them in the CHS Jazz Band soon!
Code Word: Fun
These EES 5th grade students used the final days of school to create amazing animated stories using some coding skills.
Little Free Library
WES student council was so excited to officially open their new Little Free Library on the corner of Rosemont Ave. and 3rd Street. Just days before summer break was the perfect time to open the library. This will provide students and the community with plenty of summer reading.
Community Helpers
CCPS students learned a lot about community helpers by taking a walking field trip to various locations. The students shown below were able to participate in a pretend CCS Board of Education meeting. A big thanks goes to all of our community partners who helped to make this activity a success and a special thanks to Joey Orr for hosting their board meeting.
