School Calendar Updates

At Monday’s meeting, the school board approved two changes to the school calendar based on feedback from our families and the community. First, Friday, May 8, there will be no digital learning for students in 4K-Grade 8 to allow for professional development to support continued digital learning. On Friday, May 22, there will be no digital learning day for all students 4K-Grade 12 for additional professional development to support continued digital learning. School lunches will still be provided both of these days.

Also, we will use the week of June 8 for pickup of student materials and medications still at school and the return of district materials such as textbooks, library books, Chromebooks, hotspots, and other resources. More information on these plans will be shared in May.

Fee Refunds

We have begun processing refunds for field trips, spring athletic fees, and student parking passes. If a family has any outstanding fees, we will first apply potential refunds to those balances. After all outstanding fees have been addressed, we will refund any additional funds at that point. As this will be a lengthy process, your patience is greatly appreciated!

School Lunch Hero Day

Pick up lunch for your kids and say "thank you" to Mukwonago's terrific lunch ladies! Free lunch and breakfast can help relieve some of your household stress from online learning, working from home or being an essential worker with little time for grocery shopping. During this national emergency, free lunch applications are not required.

Meals are being distributed at three sites: Big Bend Elementary, Prairie View Elementary and Mukwonago High School. Service is available on Monday-Friday from 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM. If you have a crucial need for home delivery, please fill out this form and arrangements will be made to deliver meals directly to your house.

Federal emergency funds have been allocated for these free meals but it does not cover the entire cost. If you would like to donate to the MASD Free Meals Angel Fund, please contact Pam Harris at 262-363-6200 ext 25601 or, or mail your donation to the MASD Angel Fund at 385 E. Veterans Way, Mukwonago, WI 53149.

Summer School Update

It is highly unlikely that we will be able to host in-person K-12 summer school this year, but we are still reviewing virtual options for our K-8 students. At the high school level, our online credit-bearing classes in physical education, health, technology & society, and personal finance and our online credit recovery classes will run as scheduled. Also, we are finalizing details for alternative Indian Athletic Performance classes for current Grade 8-11 students. We hope to have more details soon!
