Happy New Year! News You Can Use!
Week of Jan. 2nd - Mrs. Blankenship & Mrs. Rungruang
Welcome back to school, Thursday, January 4th!
We hope that you had a wonderful Winter Break! As we prepare to return to school, we ask that you take a moment to review the following:
- Supplies may need to be replenished. Folders, pencils, paper, etc. were rapidly depleting just before the break. Your child may need a fresh folder or two to begin the second semester.
- Cold and flu season are upon us. If you would be willing to send in hand sanitizer and Kleenex, that would be fantastic.
- With colder temperatures, please make sure that your child's coats and jackets are marked with his/her name. If a child does not have a coat, please tell us. If your child refuses to wear a coat, please tell us that as well! :) We do go out for recess if the wind chill is above 32 degrees. Students who do not have the proper warm weather gear will be unable to go outside for recess.
- If your child received that ultra cool, high prized toy or electronic device, please do not allow him/her to bring it to school. As we enter the second semester, we need distractions kept to a minimum. Items that are lost, stolen, or damaged are not the responsibility of the school. It also creates a problem that takes away from teaching and learning. Should an item be taken by a teacher, the parent will need to make arrangements to pick it up from the school. A minor infraction form will be used to document the incident. As a reminder, all electronic devices require a permissive use form to be on file at the school.
- Did your child complete the Hot Chocolate Reading Challenge? If so, remind him/her to return the form to school by Friday.
As always, thank you for sending us your very best! We look forward to a successful second semester as we prepare your child for the transition to middle school.
Please mark your calendars...
