NEWS FROM THE HEADS
Paul Bevis has been out of School since Wednesday as part of an Inspection team on an ISI Inspection. Hence, no words from him this week. But previously ... >>>
Christmas has begun!
You know it’s Christmas when you smell the sweet aroma of the Mulled Wine and taste your first delicious mince pie (courtesy of the PTA)! My thanks to Gill Towell and her team for their support by supplying the goodies and serving us all.
One is also filled with Christmassy joy, when 93 girls take the stage and give the performance to beat all performances!
As I am sure most of you noticed, I was very moved by the Upper Junior performance of “Christmas 1914” - so much so that I could not give my “thank yous” properly! The girls captured the very essence of what life must have been like in 1914. I think you’ll agree that the acting and singing overall was superb.
The Lower Junior girls, once again, amazed me. The skill of learning lines and cues is not an easy one to master but they really did, in addition to dancing and singing too!
I must take this opportunity to thank Mrs Warren and Miss Goodsell for the energy and direction. Huge thanks to the teachers who have supported the girls in learning their lines and helped backstage to ensure all ran smoothly.
Thank you to Mrs King, Mrs James and Miss Sadler for directing and producing the Lower Junior production - another outstanding performance! A special thank you to Miss Bauwers for helping with the making for the props and Miss Pridham for her unbelievable artwork and creativity. >>>
December arrives and Christmas is upon us. Trees seem to have magically arrived in the halls and classrooms, the children have been busily making all sorts of glittery things and the staff have been arriving at Waitrose or other food stores on their way home looking like the fairy on the top of the Christmas tree!
We had a lovely time on Wednesday when the Lower Junior Girls entertained us to their production “The Innkeeper’s Breakfast”. The children were mesmerised and sat spellbound throughout with many of them recounting the story of the nativity on our return to the classrooms. It really is a magical time of year and never more so than seeing the children on the stage singing to their parents. read more >>>
