Return to School Plan
The Board of Education was presented with three options for returning to school at the October 12 meeting. After review, the Board voted to return to face-to-face learning five days a week beginning November 30. There will still be a robust virtual option available for all families as well.
We will be asking families to choose either face-to-face instruction or virtual instruction for their child(ren). An email was sent out to families with this information on Friday. This choice will be binding through the end of 2020-2021, unless the district is directed by state or local health officials to revert to all virtual learning due to a rise in COVID-19 cases.
For the full details of this option, please visit our District Communications page.
*All families need to self-asses their child's health before coming to school. To indicate that they've done so, families must submit the Self Assessment Form for each student prior to entry.
*If your child is sick or is demonstrating symptoms consistent with COVID 19, you must keep them home.
Mark Your Calendar
Thursday, November 19th is the last day for small cohort face-to-face instruction.
Wednesday, November 25 - Friday, November 26th is Thanksgiving Break.
We wanted to take the opportunity to (virtually) recognize some of the positive things that we notice our Eisenhower Eagles doing.
We're SO PROUD of all of our Eagles! Special shout outs to:
Benjamin Goestch (2nd): Ben has been working hard, is participating and focused during virtual lessons and F2F and always uses his manners! - Mrs. Farkas
Rahsaan Burnley (4th): Quality effort on all work and assignments are submitted on time. - Mrs. Mahoney
Calleigh Watson (1st): Does her personal best, completes all assignments, and always ready to learn! - Mrs. Gray
Michael Levock-Messina (6th): Michael has been doing a great job with virtual learning. I know it a little harder when you are fully virtual, but Michael has come to all of our meetings and completed all of his work. I appreciate his participation in class as well! - Mrs. Descamps
Paul McCarvell (2nd): Paul always participates during online lessons. He works hard everyday to complete all of his assignment and has a positive attitude! - Mrs. Farkas
Family & Staff Working Together
GoToMeeting Behavior Expectations
In the past few weeks, we've had a few behavior issues come up in our virtual meetings, so I want to take a moment to review with families what our expectations are for both students and their family members during our synchronous GTM times.- Students must sign in with their own name/ grade level for each meeting.
- We expect that students will follow all of our GoTo Meeting Expectations while they are in their virtual class meetings (please see above), just as we expect them to do in our classrooms.
- Students should not be playing video games, lying in their bed, wrestling with pets, or joking with siblings during our virtual lessons. While we know these aren't ideal circumstances, this is how students need to get a majority of their instruction right now. This is crucial learning time for our students.
- Parents & Learning Coaches - Please be mindful of your behavior, too. If you are yelling (or swearing) during these meetings, the other students are hearing that, too. Not only is it not productive for your own learner, it is definitely not helpful for our other learners to hear that.
- Please also be mindful of what background actions end up on your child's screen. We want to preserve your family's privacy and avoid exposing other children to inappropriate situations.
Please also remind your students that if they misuse our GoToMeetings to "bomb" (log into) other meetings than their own and cause disruption, there will be consequences as guided by our Student Code of Conduct and Board Policies. We must all work together to make sure our students are getting the most out of our virtual learning opportunities.
RED RIBBON WEEK OCT. 26-30
In H.E.A.R.T. class your child receives many lessons, one of which is safety with medicines and drugs. This year your child’s H.E.A.R.T. teacher will continue this very important topic during Red Ribbon Week. Learning how to get away from a dangerous situation, standing up to peer pressure, knowing the affects of drugs on the human body, and taking medicines properly/only by a trusted adult are just a few of the many topics taught in HEART class (all at the grade level of your child).
Also, this year grades 4-6 will have the opportunity to enter a poster contest (see below). Your child’s HEART teacher will be giving students more details in the coming weeks.
Stay Safe and Healthy!

So, What's all this UDL stuff?
Eisenhower staff members continue to be trained in the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Now that I'm sharing regular updates about these efforts, I want to provide families with some more background about UDL and why we are making it a priority in our Fraser classrooms.
Please check out the link below to learn more about what UDL is and how we are working towards breaking down barriers and providing equity for all of our students.
Parents may join this virtual meeting by clicking HERE at the correct day/time.
PTO'S VIRTUAL FUN RUN
Our PTO kicked off out annual Fun Run on Friday, September 18th. The Fun Run has been EXTENDED until Friday, October 23rd. Incentives will be tallied at this time tallied. Final donations will be excepted until October 30th.
We’re raising money to support Eisenhower students and staff. PTO helps fund many activities throughout the year. Things may look different at the beginning of this school year, but PTO will still provide many activities such as virtual field trips, virtual assemblies, scholarships, classroom support. PTO purchased a water bottle filling station this summer. It is our hope that we will return to normal school this school year and will be able to provide many fun things we always do; family swim, movie night, end of year parties and celebrations and so much more!

AUTISM AWARENESS T-SHIRTS
Each year, our district sells autism awareness t-shirts with proceeds that support our district Peer to Peer programs. It is more important than ever to provide opportunities for students to connect, and our Peer to Peer programs have been doing that in Fraser for over 13 years! Our programs have gotten creative in providing opportunities for students to connect with each other, in large part due to the generous support we've received from the Fraser community in purchasing our autism awareness t-shirts year after year. We look forward to counting on your support again this year.
Please print the following flier and send it in to us THIS WEEK by Friday, October 23rd if you'd like to order. Thank You
