Reminder for APEX Fun Run-All Money Due Thursday, November 2nd
Dear Parents,
Thank you for your support in the Apex Fun Run! We are so proud of the students—way to go! We still need to collect all the money that was pledged so the school can use it to pay for Technology, Field Trips, & Classroom Materials!
1. All sponsors can pay 2 ways: Online or Check/Cash. After the fun run, an email was sent from Apex Fun Run to every sponsor that provided a valid email address. There will be a link to pay online in that email.
2. Please connect with each one of your sponsors to thank them and see if they plan to pay online or cash/check.
3. Online Payment: sponsors can pay online through the email they receive from Apex. However, some emails are blocked as spam. Therefore, you can have sponsors login to www.apexfunrun.com with your child’s Access Code and click on the blue “Pay Now” button next to their name.
4. Check/Cash Payment: Record the sponsor’s name and the amount paid by each sponsor on the front of your collection envelope. Place cash/checks inside the envelope and return to your teacher by the due date.
NOTE: There is a default of 30 laps for all students who gathered pledges and were sick, hurt, or absent on the Fun Run day for sponsors who want to still help the school. Reminder emails will go out next week to unpaid sponsors. If you recently sent payment, please disregard them. If you have any questions or need an accesscode, please email info@apexfunrun.com.
MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO: Hughes Elementary
DUE DATE: Thursday, November 2nd
Thank you!

Campus Focus~Writing
Our goal is to help students identify what makes a complete sentence and then apply this knowledge in all content areas. You will find students writing more in math and science as a way to support the language arts standards. You will also find that teachers will be teaching these skills more explicitly to help students deepen their understanding.
Please continue to encourage your child to write in complete sentences using the appropriate capitalization of letters, punctuation, and grammar. Another way to support your child in this area is by pointing out punctuation when reading each night. Please talk to your child about the purpose of punctuation and what reading would sound like if there was not any punctuation. The more we can partner together, the more your child can grow as a learner.
