February 2014
BOOK WEEK IS COMING!
Book week is 10-14th March this year and we are so looking forward to all the fun activities we have planned. There will be at least 4 visiting authors during, before and after the BOOK WEEK to talk about the very diverse range of books they write (see below). We will have workshops, storytelling, discussions and book signings for all ages throughout the school.
And that's not all of course! Everyone loves BOOK CHARACTER DAY when we dress up as our favourite BOOK character and participate in the school-wide parade - teachers included!
Plus loads more! We'll have book reviews, writing contests, quizzes, reading challenges, a parent's forum and Book Sale - those are just some of the great things we have planned.
Look out for more information in the next Peak View.
Excited? You should be!
JAN LATTA
This is a unique opportunity to meet an adventurous author who often risks her life to create books for children on endangered animals. Jan follows endangered animals in their natural habitats and has traveled to Africa, Borneo, China, India, Uganda and Sri Lanka. Jan is the 'voice' of the animals through her photographs and genuine true-to-life stories. We are delighted to have her come in to speak to the school just after Book Week.

OVERDUE BOOKS
Peak School children are not allowed to borrow new library books until all their books are returned and they can find this really disappointing, particularly when they see other children in their class choosing and borrowing books. Please would you help them to remember to bring their books into school on the following days:
- Tuesday: Year 4
- Wednesday: Year 1 and Year 2
- Thursday: Year 5 and Year 3
- Friday: Year 6
