We are grateful to be back in school to begin the 2021- 2022 school year. It is so fun to see kids back in classrooms excited to learn. We will continue to follow our CARES plan for the year to model Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy, and Self-Control. We are excited to greet all students daily after the 8:00 bell rings. Let's Get Started!
Sodexo's So Happy App
Now, more than ever, we want to understand what’s in our meals – the ingredients, and especially the nutritional and allergen information. So Happy provides a level of transparency previously unknown to the industry, with clear product descriptions and graphical representations for every nutritional category.
Rely on So Happy to tell you what's on the menu in your school's cafeteria, and utilize the allergen alert features to highlight recipes of concern. Have a question? Use the Talk to Us portal to quickly and easily contact a member of the food service team.
Updated COVID-19 Testing Procedure
The Minnesota Department of Health has updated the COVID-19 testing process for the 2021-2022 school year. All of our existing COVID-19 Vault saliva test-kits have been transitioned by MDH to "at-home Zoom enabled" tests. The COVID-19 saliva tests must be done at home via Zoom and returned to the school building within 24 hours to be shipped to Vault Laboratory (please note: if you take a kit home on a Friday, it must be completed on Sunday and returned to the health office on Monday). Results can take 48-72 hours and will be shared directly with the individual who tested via email.
The following groups of people can participate in this optional testing:
- Unvaccinated individuals (students/staff) can test anytime - up to one test per week
- Vaccinated individuals (students/staff) can test if they're experiencing COVID related symptoms or have been identified as a close contact
Please call or visit the health office in your building to pick up an at-home test kit.

A reminder for Faribault Public Schools families:
It’s important that you log into your Parent Portal account at the beginning of every school year to update your information and complete once-a-year verifications and permissions. Here’s what you need to do to update your Parent Portal account:
Log in on a computer (not a mobile device)
Click “More” in the left column menu
Click “Click here to go to Existing Student Verification”
Review your information, make updates, and complete your verifications and permissions
Click SUBMIT to complete the verification process
Be sure to click “Next” to move forward. Click “Save and Continue” if you have to leave Parent Portal before finishing and if the “Next” button is no longer available.
If there are items you are unable to change, please contact your child’s school office after you complete the above process.

Purchasing information will be provided to each student prior to picture day. Parents who would like to order before picture day can go to; MyLifetouch.com and enter your student's Picture Day ID found on the flyer.
