Mrs. Newberry's 6th Grade ELA

Brock Intermediate School

About Me

Hello, my name is Linda Newberry and I’m thrilled to begin this year at Brock Intermediate School!

Our family moved to Brock this summer. My husband is a sales manager for Freightliner, and we are blessed to share five children. Our oldest two daughters are married and each have two amazing kids. My 21 year old daughter is in Colorado Springs, Colorado pursuing her degree in Elementary Education. My 19 year old son lives in Waco where he’s working on a degree in Sports Management and active in managing a semi-pro soccer team. Our 16 year old son works at Teskey’s and is anxious to begin his junior year at BHS. We also have a Blue Heeler and a Yorkie that I consider my "fur kids".

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, reading, movies, hiking, biking, spending time with family, and being out on the water at our PK lake house.

This will be my 24th year teaching. I have nine years of experience in Special Education and taught lower elementary Montessori when my kids were young. For the last 11 years, I’ve taught 6th and 8th grade ELA. My passions are building relationships with students and sharing great literature.

I consider my classroom a “home” away from home where students are accepted, respected, and encouraged. Looking forward to getting to know all the new 6th graders and watching them SOAR!

Go Eagles!
