From the Principal

Happy Summer!

Greetings to all current and future Ascension Lutheran Christian School Families!

My name is Mrs. Reeves and I'm excited to be your new Head of School. I pray that you all are having a safe and enjoyable summer. I have spoken to some of you by phone and others I've met in person.

A little about me...I have 10 years of classroom teaching experience and three years as a social worker, facilitating home visits. Recently, I completed my Education Specialist degree in School Psychology and became a licensed school psychologist. Now God has blessed me with the opportunity to combine my love for Him and a passion for education to become principal at ALCS!

We are accepting new students from grades Kindergarten to 5. If you are considering enrolling your child(ren) or if you have questions or concerns, please contact me at 219-887-5031. I'm joyfully looking forward to all the blessings God has prepared for our 2020-2021 school year and beyond.

Peace & Blessings,

Mrs. Reeves

ALCS Principal

Health & Safety

At Ascension, we are concerned about our students' health and safety; especially as the world grapples with the impact of COVID-19. While we will continue to remain prayerful and trust in God's unchanging hand, below are a few measures that will be implemented to keep our children, families and the community safe.

The list of safety measures will likely increase as guidelines are updated by local, state and federal health organizations.

  • Reusable cloth masks provided for all students and staff
  • Individual bottles of hand sanitizer for students and staff
  • Visual social distancing/hand washing reminders
  • Individual lap tops for each student
  • Whole school sanitizing before the start of school
  • Minimal exposure to school personnel
  • Sanitizing surfaces during and at the end of the day
  • Contact-less thermometers for temperature checks

Should students be mandated to quarantine, we are collaborating with service providers that will provide seamless remote learning and teaching for our students and teachers.
