Principal's Message
I'd like to wish all of our Lowell Elementary School families a Happy New Year! I hope that 2022 is off to a great start for you. Our students, parents and staff members worked hard to make the holiday season a bit brighter for many families (and animals). During the month of December, we collected food for the Waukesha Food Pantry and dog/cat items for the Humane Society/local rescue. The value in helping others was discussed in all classrooms, and the generosity of donations was very much appreciated. Thank you for your support!
With winter upon us, I'd like to remind you that we try to go outside on a daily basis unless it is raining/sleeting, or the temperature is extremely cold. Please make sure that your child comes to school dressed appropriately for outside winter play.
As we move into the new year, we will be maintaining many of the methods and strategies we employ to teach both social and emotional skills necessary to be cooperative and productive in the school setting. We can dramatically affect the way our students face challenges, disappointments, and confusion for themselves as well as gaining empathy for their peers. Through a strong school climate (a feeling of safety, respect, and engagement), attendance rates, and academic achievement can improve for everyone.
Lastly, I wanted to share some personal news with you. On December 18th I earned my Doctoral Degree, in the areas of Leadership, Innovation, and Continuous Improvement. I look forward to applying the learning that I gained throughout the program, to my role as principal at Lowell.
Stay warm this January!
