Key Action 1 - Learning Mobility Of Individuals
Imagine: Math could be fun
The workshop targets on math teachers. They will learn to attract math for your students and to increase their math competence by a variety of different methods. They will learn to proof that maths is everywhere, funny and exiting.
We will experience that geometry accompanies us in nature and architecture via excursions.
We will learn to evaluate statistics and to discover tricks of presentations.
We will deal with optic deceptions.
We will “play” with math and solve Fermi tasks.Daily programme
- introduction into the topic
- excursion to the House of Adam Riese
- introduction of methods to deal with statistic informations: Can I trust a statistic? – possibilities for pretending
- Excursion to the City centre: looking for geometric forms and taking photos
Day 3
- evaluation of the photos: sorting geometric forms
- excursion to the city centre of Erfurt with the motto: "estimating, measuring, calculating" – Buildings ,roads, streets, rivers dimensions and proportionalities have to be determined.
- presentation of the results of the excursion
- comparing the estimates to the real sizes
- introduction of Fermi tasks -Participants explore Fermi situations with a photo camera.
- Back in the seminar room, they will prepare the task and present them.
- excursion to Jena:
In the "Imaginata" we learn about methods to experiment and sharpen the
perceptions of students.
We learn to acquire knowledge of astronomy in the planetarium.
In the Optical Museum we experience application and results of optical devices.

We will deal with "number crunching " and e -learning programs.

Where?
The workshop is going to be carried out in Weimar. This is a very beautiful city in the middle of Germany. The famous German poet, Johann Wolfgang Goethe, spent the most of his live time here.
You can reach Weimar via the Airports
- Leipzig (1 hour train distance)
- Berlin (2,5 hours train distance) and
- Frankfurt (3 hours train distance).
How to participate?
If you are interested in participating on one of our workshops you need a sending organisation and have to contact an organisation in your country that possibly applied for Key Action 1 Mobilities or intends to do so. But you can also contact us, and we will help you to find a sending organization in your country.

We are a non profit organisation.

We are experienced in networking through working as a partner in several European partnerships and in European networks for the improvement of preschool education and for rural development and the support of low-skilled people.
We are experienced in the organisation and realisation of Grundtvig workshops.
