In our scene, Helena and Demetrius are arguing in the woods because she loves Demetrius but he loves Hermia. Oberon overhears the awful way that Demetrius is treating Helena and comes up with a plan. Puck, his helpful servant, helps him with his plan.
Most Important Quote
" For I am sick when I do look on thee" "And I am sick when I look not on you"
This quote is saying that Helena makes Demetrius feel sick he dislikes her so much. Helena responds by saying she feels sick when she is unable to see him because she loves him so much. We think this quote is important because it shows how despite how awful and rude Demetrius is, Helena will still love him.
Helena
Helena is best friends with a girl named Hermia. While Lysander and Demetrius are in love with Hermia, Helena is in love with Demetrius who does not love her back. Helena is not as fair and beautiful as Hermia, so she is upset that Demetrius is in love with her best friend. Helena is significant because she adds to the conflict and is a main part of the plot.
Demetrius
Demetrius is in love with Hermia, and not Helena. He is significant to to plot of the story because he brings the conflict and the story together. Demetrius is a very rude individual, that does not and will not love Helena.
Oberon
Oberon is the king of the fairies. He is significant to our story because after overhearing the awful way that Demetrius acts toward Helena, he creates a plan to help her. Him and his servant, Puck, try to help Helena, but instead create chaos and make everything worse. He adds to the conflict by making it worse.
Puck
Puck is Oberon's servant.he is significant in the story because he is the one who messes up everything .Puck adds to the conflict by mixing Lysander up with Demetrius and making Lysander fall in love with Helena instead of Hermia.
