Last Meeting Recap
Thank you all for coming to our Investiture ceremony and Court of Awards. Your daughters appreciate you being there when they get bragged on. I can't believe that this Scouting year is almost over - just 3 more meetings and a field trip to go.
Just to clarify where those awards go on your daughter's vest or sash. Everything in the spider's left legs go on the front of the vest/sash. Please see the below website (scroll down to the green Junior picture) to see what goes on the right side of the vest, and what goes on the left side. Everything in the spider's right legs go on the back. The badges for the front should all be iron on, the one's for the back, need to be sewn on or use the Badge Magic. Call if you have any questions.
Home Energy Audit - due next meeting
Using the information in their Get Moving books, pages 61 -75 (it's mostly pictures and worksheets), help your daughter with an audit of your home. They are to record the good energy findings and the energy wasters on separate pages of their energy Journal (second set of 3 white pages in their journals). The third page is to complete the building bio portion of the audit (see page 74).
We would like to have this finished at the next meeting. Thank you.
Daily Happiness Record
Again, about half of the girls have this completed. We would really like to get the other half through this portion at the next meeting.
This year's World Thinking Day theme is "Connect". In order for the girls to be able to make a difference in other's lives, they need to understand what makes them happy and confident. So to accomplish this, they are to connect with themselves by recording 3 things that made them happy each day for 5 days. They can either write them down or draw pictures. These are to be recorded in the 3rd section of their Journal (5 white pages section).

Early BIrd Registration
Early Bird registration started 15 April and runs through 30 June. Our Council highly recommends that the girls' renewals be made by the Troop. We haven't done this in the past mostly because we haven't had the funds and secondly, we didn't know who would be committed to returning the following year. We now have the funds to do this; however, when we discussed the idea with the girls, they were a little ambivalent about making this decision, mostly because they weren't sure if they would be back next year. So, we'll discuss some more (decision doesn't have to be made until the end of this school year).
