Posts:
After reading each of the following chapters, add a 3-4 sentence post.
- Chapters 1-5
- Chapters 6-8
- Chapters 9-11
- Chapters 12-15
- Chapters 16-19
- Chapters 20-23
- Chapters 24-26
Guidelines for writing a post:
- Consider what would be the most important event that occurred throughout those chapters.
- Briefly summarize what happens in that section of the text from Holden's point of view (1-2 sentences).
- Reflect on that event from Holden's perspective (2-3 sentences). How do you feel about what happened? What is your attitude towards the situation?
Events:
When choosing events, think of places that Holden visits in the novel. Pick 3 places Holden visits that you determine to be the most important.

Add an audio file, link to a song, or a music video of a SCHOOL APPROPRIATE song that you think represents Holden's personality. Choose a song that Holden would like, and write 2-3 sentences explaining why he would like it/associate with the lyrics. This can be a modern song, or a song from the time period of the novel.
Alternate Ending- Chapter 27:
Add an additional chapter to the book that explains Holden's situation at the close of the novel. Remember, the novel is narrated from Holden's perspective, so your style of narration must match that of Salinger's. Keep in mind the type of vocabulary he uses, and his utilization of the passive voice.
