The KP Library is happy to announce that we received a WH Foundation grant

This grant allowed us to purchase 50 copies of 3 titles that students will be able to sign out from the library. These books were selected for students to read and identify character traits that support our KP Character Counts program. In addition, students will also have an opportunity to join a Skype visit with the author this spring. As students finish reading, we are encouraging them to comment on what character traits were in the books and create questions to ask the author. Here are the 3 titles of the books: The Honest Truth by Dan Gemeinhart, Bystander by James Preller, and Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. Why not make it a point of conversation and read along with them?

Believe it or not, high school is right around the corner! You will soon receive information regarding the transition process to Hall High School. However, if your child is considering other options than Hall High School, it is important to start exploring these options now.

Allie's Mitzvah Movies

Do you have any G, PG, or PG-13 movies in your house lying around in drawers that you don’t watch anymore? Support a KP student's desire to support Kid Flicks, a non-profit organization created by four sisters in California. This organization collects donated DVD movies from all over the United States and sends them to children’s hospitals and medical facilities. Allie will personally deliver one movie library to a children’s hospital in Connecticut. Please place your movies and monetary donations (checks made out to Kid Flicks) in the box in the main office labeled “Allie’s Mitzvah Movies”. Collections will be delivered every Thursday through November 5th. Let's help her reach her goal of 1,000 movies!

The War-Chief Sports Council was founded in 2014 as a natural outgrowth of the successful public-private philanthropic partnership that led to the installation of lights at the Hall and Conard outdoor stadiums. We are an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization. The War-Chief Council is organized to foster high standards of citizenship through the promotion of student athletic and related activities, and to augment the generous, yet finite resources allocated by the Board of Education to support athletics at the West Hartford public high schools.
