NEW YEAR, NEW BEGINNINGS
We are thrilled to have Mr. Lavell Everett as our new Principal! If you missed his introduction on our social media sites this summer, we are sharing his information again here!
Mr. Everett is originally from Kosciusko, MS. He attended Holmes Junior College and was a member of the track team. Mr. Everett continued his educational career at Mississippi State University where he earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees. He furthered his education at Jacksonville State University and received his Ed.S. in Instructional Leadership.
Before becoming an administrator, he taught and coached in Aberdeen, MS and Smithville, MS. Mr. Everett moved to Alabama in 1996 to teach and coach at Central School for 2 years. Moving into administration, he has been an assistant principal at Monrovia Elementary and Madison County High School for 5 years. Mr. Everett has served as principal of New Hope Elementary, New Hope High School, the PACE Academy, and Athletic Administrator for the Madison County School System for a total of 19 years.
He is married to Lesha Everett, the Family Minister at Locust Grove Baptist Church. They have 2 sons, Judson and Campbell, 2 dogs, Scout and Sipsey, and a cat that answers to anything.
Mr. Everett jumped right in the mix of things as he helped facilitate Open Campus Day and through the class meetings he held on the first two days of school. We are off to a great start and we are looking forward to growing stronger together as a school under his leadership and guidance! #NewYearNewBeginnings #GoBucks #BuckPride

WOMEN'S CHOIR MAKES SCHOOL/DISTRICT HISTORY
Congratulations to the Buckhorn High School Bella Voce Women’s Choir for being invited through application to perform as a featured ensemble at the 2023 Alabama Music Educators Association (AMEA) In-service Conference in January. The conference is attended by hundreds of Alabama choral music, band, orchestra, elementary, and general music educators annually.
Bella Voce is one of few choirs selected from a range of many different choirs who applied including: elementary, junior high, high school, college, and semi-professional choirs across the state of Alabama.
This is an incredible honor for the Buckhorn Choral Department as Bella Voce is the first performing, instrumental or vocal ensemble to perform at AMEA in Buckhorn High School history. Bella Voce is also the first choral ensemble to be selected to perform for this conference in Madison County School System history.
This achievement was made possible by the leadership of Choral Music Director, Mr. Stacy Daniels and the hard work and dedication of current and past members of the Buckhorn High School Choral Department. Congratulations to Mr. Daniels and these amazing young women on this outstanding honor! GO BUCKS!

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
https://www.hsvutil.org/community_resources/programs/sign_up_to_round_up.php
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
