SchedulingAs you are planning for next year, there are some things you will want to keep in mind. For example, be sure your master schedule allows for collaboration and the Professional Learning Community process in a meaningful way. This could also allow for instructional rounds built into the day, as well as instructional coaching or other job-embedded professional development.
Another thing you will want to schedule and plan is your campus's use of quick data. Remember that quick data can include conversations, observations or quantitative data. If you are certified in any level, you'll want to use quick data to show that the leading indicators in each level are being monitored throughout the year. This is not a task the administrator must complete alone. In fact, a "divide and conquer" approach can be extremely useful and beneficial. Decide you will monitor which leading indicators how and when ahead of time to ensure data is collected year round.
Professional Development and Training
One thing the Region 9 HRS team can do is help facilitate professional development and training, whether that's at the end of the year, throughout the summer or at the beginning of the school year. However, in order to do that, we need to plan ahead as well. If you think you might be interested in this kind of on-site training, please let us know what you have in mind as soon as you have possible dates. Our schedules do fill up fast during those times.

- Specific teaching strategies tied to ASOT
- Proficiency Scales
If you think your campus will be interested in certifying in the fall or even next year in general, the end of the year is a great time to administer preliminary surveys in the next level. If this is something you are considering, please reach out to your R9 support staff to open these surveys.
Also, as a means of establishing the readiness of your campus in certifying, don't forget that we have an application process. This helps us know your intentions while also ensuring that your campus has had the necessary conversations and prep work to successfully certify. One of the things we request as part of the application process is an action plan based on survey results, so there's another reason to administer surveys before the end of the school year.

Summer Professional Development Sessions
A Look Ahead at 2019-20
Cohorts 1, 2 and 3We know that campuses in our Cohorts 1, 2 and 3 are still working on sustaining current HRS Levels in addition to continuing to advance in the framework. That means you may need additional training or a refresher on certain aspects of HRS. Take a look at the training calendar below for Cohorts 4 and 5 to see what topics will be covered throughout the year. You and your campus are able to send participants to any of these sessions. You do not have to send an entire leadership team and can use these sessions to "catch up" on topics or as refresher courses. We do ask that you register in advance so that we can be prepared for the correct number of attendees.
Please note that any session on the schedule that includes Action Planning will require survey data at that particular level. These surveys can be found in your HRS Handbook and will need to be administered locally. These can be done through Google forms, Survey Monkey, etc.
As you are looking at the schedule, keep in mind that those sessions in Cohort 5 will be presented to leadership teams completely new to the HRS process while those being conducted with Cohort 4 groups will assume some level of understanding as they are in their second year of HRS.
Cohorts 4 and 5
Cohorts 4 and 5 will receive additional leadership training in the 2019-20 school year. You can find the schedule below. These campuses will also have new ASOT training sessions (for a brand new ASOT team) as well, which are also found on the schedule.
