#21sports1team
In spite of the fact that school was on a break for the last week, Brickie sports still got in a little competition before Christmas. The Hobart grapplers tried to PIN DOWN the Mustangs in NCC action and our boys cagers attempted to leave the gym on a MAKE down at Morgan Township ... both trying to unwrap a VICTORY before the weekend.
It's hard to believe we only have 1 week remaining in 2021 ... it's certainly been one for the ages. Hopefully EVERYONE has a Happy and Safe New Year's Eve!
... and as for the next year of our existence?? I think American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift said it best ...
I don't know about you
But I'm feelin' 22
Everything will be alright ... it's time for BricksCenter!

Wrestling
On Monday night, the Brickies received some EXCITING news ... our boys will be once again competing at Franklin High School in the IHSWCA Class 3A TEAM STATE!! This will be the 2nd year in a row that Hobart will represent NWI in an attempt to earn an IHSWCA STATE TITLE! Since the IHSAA State Tournament Series is only for individuals, the IHSWCA Team State offers the Top 8 schools in each class a shot to compete as a team for the championship! GOOD LUCK BOYS!!
Hobart is now 12-1 overall and 4-0 in the Northwest Crossroads Conference!

The Brickie cagers will take part in the Wheeler Holiday Tournament next week on Tuesday, 12/29. Before the holiday festivities, Hobart had to be road warriors as they faced off with Morgan Township on Tuesday. This was the 1st meeting between the two schools since the 2008-2009 season. In the 1st 8 minutes, the Cherokees jumped out to an early 17-4 lead with some hot shooting from long range. The Brickies BATTLED BACK in the 2nd quarter and cut the lead down to just 5 points at 16-21, but another 3 from Morgan would halt the Hobart run. After halftime, our boys FOUGHT HARD, but could not gain an advantage and lost a tough one on the road by a 44-34 final score. Senior Josh Tejeda led the Brickies in scoring with 10 ... classmate Miki Djankovich added 9 and tied freshman Noah Ehrlich & junior Keith Mullins for the team-lead in rebounds with 6.
Hobart is an even 3-3 on the year and still 1-0 in NCC play. The Bricks will travel to Wheeler on Tuesday for some Holiday fun! LET'S GO BOYS!!
