Event + Response = Outcome
It means that in life we all experience events that we have no control over. Such as losing a job due to downsizing, a pet dying of old age, a tree falling on our house, and so many other things!
But we can choose how we respond to the event. We cannot choose our feelings, which we are all entitled to but how we respond through our words and actions. How you respond to the situation or event will give you a certain outcome. So in a kid situation, one kid steals another student's candy. The student is upset so he hits the other kid. Now who is the one in trouble? This may be a silly example but it shows that yes you can be upset but how you react will effect the outcome.
Parenting Made Better
Redbird Resilient is working with Catholic Charities to provide a 5 night series for Parents with kids under 12. Childcare and Dinner are provided for every evening of the series. If you attend all of the sessions you will receive a $50 gift card. What you will learn is positive parent practices, overcoming disobedience, creating a calm environment, building stronger bonds, raising resilient families, and creating structure out of chaos.

A New Resource in Our School
Due to House Bill 123 our school is required to have an anonymous reporting system.
The number for anonymous reports is 844-723-3764. Things to report are verbal or written threats to students or faculty, weapons on school grounds, self harm or suicidal comments. We ask that you only use this number if the school is unaware of the report being made.
Worth a Try!
-Write down a list of 20 things that make you happy or that you enjoy to do. I know this might be difficult if you aren't in the right headspace but you can do it.
-Then put a star beside the things that don't require someone else, put a star beside it if it doesn't require money, and put a star beside it if it only takes 15 minutes. If one of those items has three stars then you don't have a good excuse not to do it!
Some examples of my three star activities would be reading a book, taking a walk, or painting my nails.
-Lastly put a few of these activities on your calendar. Adding something you enjoy to do in to your schedule will help add happiness to your life!
