#DrivenCongratulations to the Gananda-Wayne Girls Varsity Swim Team for their 2nd place finish in the Finger Lakes League Championships! AND a shout out to All League Champs: Haley & Sydney on a job well done! A congratulations also goes to Coach Dani Richards for being named Coach of the Year! The team heads to the Girls Swimming and Diving Preliminaries on November 2 at the Webster Aquatic Center. The meet begins at 5pm. | #RespectLast Friday, the varsity volleyball team played in a Pink Game in Marion. Pink Games recognize and celebrate women who have had a breast cancer diagnoses, undergone treatment, have gone into remission, or have lost their life to breast cancer. Each team member identified a family member or friend of the family who were affected by breast cancer. Those identified were honored in the program that evening and the athletes played the match in their honor. A total of $1,025 was raised and donated to the Pluta Cancer Center. The team was also 14-0 in the league this year which clinched them the League Championship! Way to go girls! Be sure to catch the team in the sectional quarterfinals on October 29 against Bolivar/Richburg. The game starts at 5pm at Gananda. | Proud Panthers Congratulations to the Gananda Middle School Proud Panthers of the Month: 6th grader Khloe Rogers, 7th grader Mia Marcucci and 8th grader Brooke Seaburg! These students were chosen by their teachers for practicing self control. |

#Outstanding Shout out to Larisa Kotok on her 2nd trip to the state individual tennis championships in Schenectady this week! Larisa won her first match at the Tennis State Championship 6-0, 6-0. Unfortunately Larisa was defeated in her second match 7-6, 6-3. Halloween Costumes on October 31, 2022
As a reminder, Halloween is on Monday, October 31. We will allow students and staff to wear costumes to school, however, please remember to adhere to dress code policy; there are no masks, weapons of any sort, or sharp objects allowed. Students who have physical education should come prepared to participate. We wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween!

Report Student Harassment/Bullying
Did you know we have an electronic form on our website to report student harassment or bullying? If your child has been experiencing harassment or bullying, please fill out the form to make a report. You can find a "Report Student Harassment/Bullying" link on our website under the Parents heading. The report will go directly to the district's DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) Coordinator, Mr. Elliott Butt. Once reviewed, Mr. Butt will coordinate an investigation into the matter. With your help, we hope to continue to fight against bullying and create a welcoming environment for all students in Gananda Central School District.

Canker Sores
Canker Sores are small shallow sores inside the mouth or at the base of the gums.
Canker sores do not occur on the lips and are not contagious. Main symptom is a painful sore in the mouth that can make it hard to eat and talk. Most canker sores clear on their own in one to two weeks. Treatments, if needed include mouth rinses, pastes or medication. Some causes of canker sores are viral infections, stress, food allergies, vitamin deficiencies, mouth injuries.

The Class of 2025 is selling Schutt's Apple Mill Fried Cakes beginning October 20 and ending November 3.
Donuts are sold for $12 as a mixed or glazed dozen.
Pickup is November 14th from 2:30-3:30 in the back parking lot of the high school.
Checks can be brought in to Heather Graves Markham at the HS made out to Gananda Central School District.
