Halloween Costumes on October 31, 2022

As a reminder, Halloween is on Monday, October 31. We will allow students and staff to wear costumes to school, however, please remember to adhere to dress code policy; there are no masks, weapons of any sort, or sharp objects allowed. Students who have physical education should come prepared to participate. We wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween!

Report Student Harassment/Bullying

Did you know we have an electronic form on our website to report student harassment or bullying? If your child has been experiencing harassment or bullying, please fill out the form to make a report. You can find a "Report Student Harassment/Bullying" link on our website under the Parents heading. The report will go directly to the district's DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) Coordinator, Mr. Elliott Butt. Once reviewed, Mr. Butt will coordinate an investigation into the matter. With your help, we hope to continue to fight against bullying and create a welcoming environment for all students in Gananda Central School District.

Parent Volunteer Registration Form

We are excited to reinstate Parent Volunteers in our schools! If you are interested in volunteering for school events, athletics, classroom activities, or as a school helper in the cafeteria, library, or the school offices at any point during the school year, please complete the Parent Volunteer Registration Form. You can also find this form on our website under the Parents heading. It takes approximately three weeks for approval to volunteer due to the background checks and board approval process necessary for access to our school buildings during the day. We look forward to working with you in the coming weeks!

Schoology

Did you know that you can find your child's daily assignments online? Log in to Schoology for your all-access parent pass. If you haven't already signed in, follow the instructions on the Gananda website.

ParentSquare

Gananda Central School District uses ParentSquare for school communication . ParentSquare allows us to communicate with email, text and app notifications. The platform automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified. Visit the Gananda website for more information.

Canker Sores

Canker Sores are small shallow sores inside the mouth or at the base of the gums.

Canker sores do not occur on the lips and are not contagious. Main symptom is a painful sore in the mouth that can make it hard to eat and talk. Most canker sores clear on their own in one to two weeks. Treatments, if needed include mouth rinses, pastes or medication. Some causes of canker sores are viral infections, stress, food allergies, vitamin deficiencies, mouth injuries.

As always, if you are concerned or have questions, contact your physician.
