Your Input Matters
As indicated in our last newsletter, our district is on a continuous journey to make our schools the best places for students to learn, staff to work, and parents to send their children for a good education. In this effort, we appreciate your support.
It is important to gather feedback from you to celebrate successes and identify areas for growth. If you have not already done so, please take a few minutes and complete this Parent Satisfaction Survey to help provide this feedback.
Once the survey is complete, the results will be analyzed by an outside organization. The data from the survey will be sent to each school and the Superintendent. Then, the results of the survey will be shared with parents and the community.
- The survey can be accessed online at: Muskego-Norway School District Parent Satisfaction Survey.
- The survey will be open through 12/11/2019.
Thank you for your continued interest in and support of your child's education with us. Please feel free to contact us in the event you have any questions regarding the survey.
Sincerely,
Linda O'Bryan, Principal
John McEwing, Associate Principal
Suicide Awareness and Prevention Education
On Monday, December 16th, all 5-8th grade students at Lake Denoon will hear a presentation that covers the topic of suicide awareness and prevention. The purpose of this presentation is to share with students the signs and risk factors often associated with people who are contemplating suicide or have suicidal thoughts. Through this presentation, students will learn about ways to problem-solve, engage in help-seeking behaviors, and be informed of suicide prevention resources. At the end of the presentation, students will complete an exit survey that will ask them if they need to be seen by someone on our student services team, or, if they have a question following the presentation. District student services staff members will respond to the exit survey responses based on priority.
Thank you, parents and guardians, for supporting the health and wellness of our students.
Congratulations D.A.R.E. Graduates!
Congratulations Peace Poster Contest Winners!
Students in Intermediate Art took part in this year’s Peace Poster Contest sponsored by the Muskego Lion’s Club. Art Teachers from Lake Denoon MS, Muskego Lakes MS, St. Paul’s School and St. Leonard’s School have incorporated curriculum to support these students in creating a piece of art that will represent their understanding of this year’s theme, “Journey to Peace”.
This Peace Poster uses previously-learned principles and elements of design to create a composition that evokes the theme without using words. Students had the opportunity to express both their skill and craftsmanship in the creation of their poster. The Muskego community will be able to view all participants of the Peace Poster contest at the Muskego Public Library starting December 1st- December 31st.
The three winners from Lake Denoon Middle School are listed below. Each student wrote a quote to summarize their personal expression of what peace means to them.
Lake Denoon's 1st Place winner Isabella Mittelstaedt writes, “Peace to me means, a world where we all live together in harmony and a world with no conflict and we all accept others differences and everyone in the world will have to come together in order to achieve a peaceful world.”
Lake Denoon's 2nd Place winner Riordan Kiernan states, “Peace is something the world struggles with because of our society, outcome and differences. But as we realize that isn’t important, we all come together as a community and peace will make its way around.”
Lake Denoon's Third Place winner Lily Narlow suggests,
“As long as we all treat each other equally, be kind, and maybe give each other a smile now and then we can all have a peaceful journey in this beautiful world.”
Each student did a fantastic job arranging their compositions in a creative way to express this year’s message “Journey to Peace”. Please take an opportunity to visit the artwork during the Month of December at the Muskego Public Library and share in their vision of Peace.
