CodeCombat Initiative
October 16-20 2017
Learn to Code
CodeCombat is a programming game that teaches students learning how to code. CodeCombat provides a full year's computer science class using real Python or JavaScript for students in grades 4-12. The best part is that it doesn't require teachers or students to have prior programming experience.
The Contest
We are hosting a contest the week of October 16-20! CodeCombat will give free accounts to every participating student in our juvenile justice schools for one week. During that time, the goal will be to see how far the students can move through the coding game and curriculum. Students will be able to track their progress against others on a nation-wide leaderboard. Each student will be given a unique username to participate and identities will be protected . We will have prizes at the end of the week for the top scorers on the leaderboard!
October 11 is the LAST day to register!
Technology Requirements
CodeCombat runs best on computers with at least 4GB of RAM, on a modern browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge. Chromebooks with less RAM may have minor graphics issues in later courses.
