Dear Walker Families,

This week school will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 2nd, and for teacher in-service on Tuesday, September 3rd. Notes will be coming home for conference week on Wednesday. We ask that you return the note by Friday, September 6th, in order for teachers to schedule conferences.

We need your help to increase safety protocols and keep your children safe! We will continue to open our front doors at 7:15 to let students in, but only students. Adults will not be allowed in unless you are coming in to meet with a staff member, volunteer, etc... but not just to drop off students. This will minimize the number of adults in the building, and can help promote even tighter safety protocols. If you do need to come in, a staff member will escort you to the office to check-in. We want you to feel welcome to visit at any time, but in order to keep students safe, we need you to follow procedures and check-in at our office. Please remember to bring in your ID to check students out. We cannot release a student to anyone without proper identification. Furthermore, please make all afternoon pick-up arrangements before the school day, if at all possible. We know there are emergencies that warrant a call to school to change how a student goes home, but in order to minimize classroom interruptions and/or cause less confusion for a student, please send a note with your child at the beginning of the day if going-home routines are different. If there must a call to school due to an emergency, please notify the office as early as possible, so we can get information to students and teachers well before the end of the day.

We love our Walker family, and as always, we will do all we can to keep students safe, but we need your help! You can help us by following all school safety procedures. Thanks for all you do!

Thank you,

Mrs. Lynn Ryan, Principal, lryan@sdale.org

Mrs. Carrie Farris, Assistant Principal, cfarris@sdale.org
