Mr. Spence's Science Newsletter
September 9th - September 23rd
What's Happening?
Students have been getting used to their classroom, technology, and the all new interactive style notebooks we use in class to take notes. We just finished up Unit 0 on the Scientific Method as well. Students made and flew paper airplanes, making judgments about how they would fly, and then analyzed their results.
Over the next two weeks we will be starting Unit 1 on "What is Life?" Students should be filling in their IS notebooks every night on the left page to re-summarize their notes for the day, or doing another activity we have in class. Students can access their science textbooks for additional reading material at home using the website at http://pearsonsuccessnet.com/ as well.
All assignments, activities, and tests will be listed on Schoology.com as well. Students are free to access these websites using a computer, table device, or even a smartphone.
Paper Airplanes
Which one will fly the farthest?
Students Use Their Own
Making their own paper airplanes, students all came up with a different hypothesis while achieving different results.
Team Work
Though students found and used their own data, they worked in teams for support and help.
