PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE:
Dear Boulder Creek Families,
November is upon us. It brings with it a new trimester, Veteran’s Day, Parent/Teacher Conferences, and Thanksgiving. It won’t be long now, and we will be wrapping up 2022. Time is flying by.
We finished up October and the first trimester showing a huge amount of school spirit by dressing up for each of our Red Ribbon/Spirit-themed days. We have some amazingly creative kids (and parents)! In addition, we had a very successful Halloween dress-up day on Friday, October 28th. Students were respectful of the costume guidelines and there was great participation overall. So, the tradition will continue, and we already can't wait for next year!
November is a month of showing thanks. I am thankful for the multitude of wonderful families we have who are a part of the extended Boulder Creek Family. The partnership we share in the education of our children is invaluable.
Sincerely,
Tina Croes
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES, Nov 14-18
Parent/Teacher Conference Week is coming up November 14th-18th. This is the week before Thanksgiving Break. Teachers will begin scheduling conferences with parents very soon if they haven't already. Conferences will be in person. Yay!
Middle school grades will be conducting student-led conferences with the exception of some mandatory teacher-led conferences. Middle school teachers will reach out to their parents to schedule either a student-led or teacher-led conference with you.
The best way to help your child with his/her success in school is to play an active role along with the classroom teacher. We look forward to sharing your child’s first-trimester progress during conference week.
2022 JOG-A-THON!
The Jog-a-thon will take place on Friday, November 18th on Boulder Creek's lower playground. Pledge sheets will be going home with students soon!
Thank you in advance for your support!
FALL IS THE TIME FOR LOST AND FOUND - JACKETS AND SWEATERS
Support Our BC Student Leadership Team as They Support TOYS for TOTS!
Join our Boulder Creek Student Leadership Team and the US Marine Corp. as together we support Toys for Tots. All toys collected will be distributed to children within our own community. If your family is willing to donate, please bring a new, unwrapped toy suitable for kids between the ages of 0-18 years of age. There are Toys for Tots bins located at Boulder Creek, including in the main office, where you can drop off your toy between the dates of November 1st through December 9th. Together, let's teach our children about the gift of giving.
Do You Order on Amazon? Turn on Amazon Smile and Earn Money for Boulder Creek!
Amazon will donate money to our school's Booster Club and it's so easy! The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible smile.amazon.com purchases. Tens of millions of products are eligible for donations. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages at smile.amazon.com or with AmazonSmile ON in the Amazon Shopping app. Recurring Subscribe & Save purchases and subscription renewals are not currently eligible to generate donations.
Remember, only purchases made at smile.amazon.com, (not amazon.com) or with AmazonSmile turned ON in the Amazon Shopping app on your mobile phone will generate AmazonSmile donations.
How do I turn on AmazonSmile?
- Log into your Amazon account.
- Use the drop-down menu and click on Amazon Smile.
- Search the charities for "Boulder Creek Booster Club" Redding, CA. Be careful because there are many charities that begin with Boulder Creek.
- When you sign in to Amazon, make sure it says, "AmazonSmile" at the top.
Amazon will send you quarterly statements showing you how much money was donated to the Boulder Creek Booster Club as a result of your qualifying purchases. Don't forget to turn on Amazon Smile in your Amazon Phone App as well!

HEALTH GUIDELINES FOR SCHOOL
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOUR CHILD IS COVID POSITIVE OR HAS SYMPTOMS?
This year is all about recommendations rather than requirements. The most important part is to stay home if you are sick. We are no longer offering testing for students at school, but we do have free tests available for parents who would like to test their students at home. Please refer to the flyer below for further details.
Thank you so much for your cooperation and understanding.
DROP-OFF/PICK-UP TIMES AND PARKING LOT PROCEDURES Where/when should I drop-off and pick-up?
Grade-Level Start and End Times
We are happy to welcome our students on campus for breakfast as well as on the playground before the start of the school day this year. The earliest drop-off time is 7:30 a.m.
Regular Day - School Start/End Times:
4-8 grades begin at 8:00 a.m. - 2:10 p.m.
K-3 grades begin at 8:15 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Minimum Day - School Start Times:
4-8 grades begin at 8:00 a.m. - 1:06 p.m.
K-3 grades begin at 8:10 a.m. - 1:06 p.m.
Students will be released from class based upon the dismissal time. Students will be walked to a designated pick-up area (see below) and remain with their teacher/classmates. If they have a younger sibling(s), they should report to the designated pick-up area of their youngest sibling so parents don't have to visit both pick-up loops. Please coordinate this with your children.
To ensure the safety of all children, students must be picked up at their dismissal times. The school does not provide supervision for students after 2:20 p.m. on regular days and 1:20 p.m. on minimum days. Every Monday is a minimum day. If students are not picked up by the aforementioned times, they will be escorted to the office. Parents will then be required to go to the office to check students out. Remember this is to ensure your child’s safety, so please be prompt when picking up your child.
Assigned Parking Lots for Drop-off and Pick-up
This location is decided by the youngest child in the family. Older children in the family will need to find their youngest sibling at the pick-up location that is assigned to that sibling's grade level. For example, Kindergarten will be picked up in the front parking lot, so all older siblings of Kindergartners will report to the dismissal location to find their Kindergarten sibling's class at the front of the school and wait for their parents there together. We will be out to help older siblings find their pick-up point. This should only take a day or two to get into the routine of where to go.
Parking Lot Assignments by Grade-Level:
- TK/K (and all older siblings) - Front Lot
1 and 2 (and all older siblings) - Back Lot
3 and 4 (and all older siblings) - Front Lot
5 (and all older siblings) - Back Lot
6-8 (and all older siblings) Front Lot
Please do not arrive earlier than your oldest child's release time (see above), as we want to be able to clear the parking lot quickly for each group. If you have multiple children who are released at both times, please find a parking space rather than waiting in the pick-up lane as this will block the lane from moving as you wait for your older child. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please review the BC Flow of Traffic Map in order to determine which way to enter/exit the campus from the neighborhood depending on which parking lot you are assigned. Front lot = red arrows. Back lot = green arrows.
