Buccaneer Families,
I hope your child had a wonderful first week of school! From my perspective, it was the smoothest first day/week of school I have ever experienced. Thank you for preparing your students for success and following traffic expectations, as it makes everything run more efficiently. Here are some highlights from week 1:
- Morning drop off rarely has a line and is completely clear by 8:35am! It is calm and empty in the mornings for students to start their day stress-free!
- Afternoon pickup/car rider line was completely clear by 4:35 on day 1! This is unheard of! Thank you for your cooperation to make the line run efficiently! It was clear by 4:30 on day 2!
- Most importantly, our halls were filled with happy students who were excited for class and to see their friends again. We are thankful to have our school filled with laughter and learning.
As always, if you need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. I am always available, and my admin/counseling team contacts are at the bottom of my newsletters every week.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Laura Keogh, Principal

Entering Student Absences
We are excited to announce a new way to report future student absences for our secondary campuses. Parents can now enter future absences into Skyward Family Access. This short video will provide you with instructions on how to enter an absence for your child. Once you log into Skyward Family Access, select the “Attendance” tile to enter an absence.
Documentation such as doctors notes for absences should be uploaded through Skyward. To do this, please log into Skyward Family Access and select the tile labeled “Attendance Documents Upload”. This form will allow you to upload supporting documentation for absences.
Any absences or early release requests submitted for the same day will be accepted prior to 2:00 pm through Skyward. Students will not be released after 3:40 pm until dismissal at 4:10 pm. All supporting documentation must be received within 3 days after the student returns to school.
Please email hbmsattendance@ltisdschools.org with any questions or information regarding your student's absences.
