The Summer Olympic Games of 1936 was important to the Holocaust because it was the start of all racism towards Jews and Gypsys. It showed how much Hitler hated most races and how after Hitler became chancellor of Germany, he turned the nation into a one party dictator ship.

Summer Olympic Games of 1936, was an international multi-sport event that was held in Berlin, Germany. Berlin won the bid to host the games over Spain on April 26, 1931 at the 29th century in Barcelona. It marked the second and final time that the International Olympic committee would gather to vote in a city that was bidding to host those games. In 1933 an "aryans only" policy was instituted in all German athletic organizations. "Non aryans" Jews, part Jew, and Gypsys were excluded from German sports facilities and associations. Because of this, many people boycotted the games and didn't go.
Adolf Hitler hosted the Summer Olympic Games and in August 1936, his Nazi Dictatorship showed its racist, militaristic character.
Jesse Owens was an important part of the games because he was the first African American to win a gold medal. Owens won the medal for the United States while competing against Germany. This was ironic because Adolf Hitler opposed most races, including Jesse Owens. While still saluting him, Owens showed Hitler that whites weren't stronger than blacks and vice versa.
