Fraud
Intentional deception for gain
Examples
Phishing & Smishing: Fake email or message to get someone to provide personal/account information.
Retail/Auction Fraud: When you buy something online, but you never get it.
Work at Home: Pay for kit or components for “easy” job from home. Sort of like retail/ auction fraud and phishing and smishing combined.
How to avoid
Don't reply to emails with personal information. Even if they say they're someone you know (e.g your bank) , just don't do it.
Research the sellers before you buy anything from them. Look at reviews.
If it looks too good to be true, it probably isn't.
