Kimono-known to everyone in the world as a robe except for Japan, Japanese wear it as a formal garment. Found on page 51. In this book a man named sing wears a formal kimono.

ambitious- The desire to succeed. Found on Page 54. Some people can be very ambitious when they are eager to learn.

Lens- A curved piece of glass or a transparent such as a camera or magnifying glass. Found on page 55. You use a magnifying glass to identify small things.

Alcatraz- an island in San Francisco, from 1934 to 1963 it was a top security prison. Found on page 56. Alcatraz in 1935 was practically inescapable.

Rutabaga- also known as a turnip, a root vegetable. Found on page 82. Rutabaga is prepared for us to eat.

Afterimage- an impression of vivid sensation retained after the stimulus has ceased. Found on page 95. The man disappeared and it was an afterimage to everyone.

Uzi- A type of sub machine gun of Israeli design. Found on page 146. Sub machine guns are close ranged like the uzi.

Corridor- A long passage in which doors lead to rooms. Found on page 56. The long corridor was long and scary.

Parentage- The identity or origin of ones parents. Found on page 162. The child looked through the origin of his real family.
10.
Rebel- A person who goes against the rules, who likes to oppose in what other people do. Found on page 178. The rebel did the opposite of what the others were doing.
