Week of 2/16-2/19
In reading, we are taking our final draft of Wax Museum and starting to study/memorize. We will paste their speech on notecards to begin studying. Please help your child at home to start memorizing!
***Students will present their memorized speech to the class on March 1st and 2nd in class. They will show us their costume, but will not wear it that day.
We are studying 4 new roots this week and our spelling pattern is Homographs. Spelling pages and test will be on Friday this week. PLORPE test will be on Friday as well.
In social studies, we are continuing to create a Go West Journal where we are putting ourselves in the shoes of Lewis and Clark. Our Social Studies lesson this week is about the Causes of the Civil War. We will focus on the differences between the North and South and what caused them to disagree.

2/18-29 Book Fair
2/22 and 2/24 Mock STAAR tests to get students prepared for the 4 hour time frame. It is a regular school day with specials, lunch, and recess at normal times.
2/25 PTA Meeting at 6:00; Parent Workshop at 6:30 pm
3/1 or 3/2 Wax Museum Dress Rehearsal during class--your child will be assigned a day
3/3 Wax Museum and Open House 6:00 pm

It's time to start going through your pictures and submitting them for the 5th grade graduation video. We are looking for pictures featuring two or more kids from Kindergarten through 5th at Haggar activities such as classroom parties, Outdoor Camp/Camp Haggar, field trips, Haggar Howdy/Beach Blast/Sock Hop, first/last day of school, recess, just no birthday parties. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to figure out the best way to get your pics to us. Don't have any pictures? It's not too late, submit pictures you take from class parties, the camp out, wax museum, etc. once you take them. Thanks!
